Ditching our usual Saturday haunts, we got dressed to the nines and headed out for a good cause. We attended the 4th Annual Silver & Gold Winter Party at the Bowery Hotel. The gala was held in support of Roots & Wings, a non-profit global development fund focused on bringing empowerment to impoverished regions worldwide.
The 700 attendees at the sold out event had a chance to strike their favorite pose along on a step and repeat and enjoy an open bar sponsored by Robert DeNiro's VDKA 6100 and Peroni Italy. The chatter around the event was that the classy gentlemen loved the female to male ratio which puts our Hopeless Romantics at ease. We spotted an assortment of classic LBDs and lace, accentuated with gold and silver jewelry as an ode to the name of the event. The men, dressed equally as dapper in black blazers, button downs, and ties lended to the Bowery Hotel's exquisite aesthetic.
With DJ Arturo Chi'en spinning the night away, the highlight of the night was a last minute surprise performance by international pop singer Natascha Bessez. With a bedazzled microphone, the singer and former beauty pageant winner entertained the crowd with three songs. Our personal favorite was the finale of "Bang Bang," when Bessez shocked guests by going full-out Nicki Minaj, rapping word for word, then going back to sounding sultry as ever. She put herself up on our radar as one to watch in the future!
Just because you missed the event doesn't mean it's too late to donate to the cause. Visit Root & Wings at www.rootsandwings.org to find out more.
