Hanging out backstage before the Charlotte Ronson show, we got the inside scoop on the new collection. Munching on more "Baked by Melissa" cupcakes than humanely possible to eat, we fully sensed the chaotic nature of backstage. While waiting on late models, we chatted with reps from make-up brand Mehron, who explained to us that the look they were going for was "The girl who didn't go home on Friday and woke up Saturday somewhere else and is meeting their girlfriends for brunch in a hour. That beautiful residue left makes the look."

We finally managed to snag Charlotte Ronson herself for a minute to talk about her collection.

Labeling Men: What was your inspiration behind the collection?

Charlotte Ronson: The inspiration behind the collection is a balance of nature in an urban abstract setting. I was inspired by the construction of 60s sportswear paired with more feminine and clean details...A much stronger free woman, but not taking away any of the playfulness of the DNA and a woman in a man's world. There is a little bit of androgyny, but keeps it feminine.

L.M: What is one of your favorite pieces from the collection?

C.R: I love this beautiful dress; it's a high neck lace, it's from the same lace from the skirt that I am wearing. It's beautiful, high neck, short sleeve, maxi dress.

L.M: Summarize your collection in three words.

C.R: Clean, Pure, and Androgynous.

Seeing the collection, we agreed with Ronson on her favorite look along with her military oversized turtlenecks and her use of burgundy, which made the collection feel like a obscure garden in the city. Guests of the show were thunderously in approval of Ronson's collection, calling it some of her best work in a while. If this is the direction Ronson is heading, we can't wait to see what she comes up with next.
