#MusicMonday: Spring Breakers Edition

I may have graduated college six years ago, but the end of March continues to fill me with a deep restlessness, an itching to lie on a beach in a neon bathing suit, chugging domestic light beers and downing shots named for sex positions. I never actually had such a spring break in college (although my friends and I once drove to Key West and got wasted at the Hemingway house), so my conception of what spring break – spring breaakkkkkkkkk – means comes primarily from Spring Breakers. Pursuant to this Mr. Korin’s vision, spring break – spring breakkkkkkkk – equals cocaine snorted from distortionary mirrors, cornrows, neon everything, trap music, guns, and, eventually, felonies. Below is a playlist inspired by this hedonistic aesthetic, not the Diddy hedonism of yachts and Cristal, but rather the more ratchet pleasures of being doused in beer that tastes like seltzer water and committing casual burglary in neon pink ski masks.
