IN CROWD: Silver & Gold 5th Anniversary Party

Upholding traditions is great and giving back is even better. This year we were graciously invited back to the 5th anniversary of the Silver & Gold Party for Roots & Wings, a non-profit global development fund focused on bringing empowerment to impoverished regions worldwide. While not as chilly as last year, our fellow New Yorkers were excited to mingle at the cozy and glamorous Bowery Hotel in Noho. The rustic jet modern fireplace was held off for VIP seating, where we happily kept cozy with some warmth and cocktails.

For this landmark anniversary for the event, drinks this year were sponsored by Sky Vodka, giving us options between traditional vodka, blood orange or cranberry. Our personal drink of the night was a perfectly mixed blood orange vodka, club soda and fresh lime juice. Simple, tasty, and unlike other flavored vodkas, it didn't leave us with an overpowering sugary feeling. Trust us when we tell you this is one cocktail our #CaptainKennedy and #HopelessRomantic will be drinking for ages to come.

While guests were treated to DJ Kris Muniz spinning for the night, the real treat was when the committee invited back international pop singer Natascha Bessez. With her classic bedazzled microphone, the singer stepped up it up a notch, singing her heart out and getting the otherwise tame crowd to dance the night away. Our favorite this year was her ending smash-up of Rihanna's "Only Girl" with the classic "I Wanna Dance With Somebody.”
