7pm: Epson "Digital Couture"

Kicking off our New York Fashion Week festivities was the Epson "Digital Couture" event. The second time around, Epson returns, featuring 11 designers from both North and South America who used Epson's SureColor® F-Series to design their prints and garments. The digital dye-sublimation allows a "direct to garment technology," altering the color of the garment with a simple click of a button. This allows designers to bring their ideas to life via Epson's innovative and distinguished technology.

We were please to find that Epson included not one but two menswear designers. Fabrizzio Berrocal's collection from Costa Rica embodied the tropical color scheme of the homeland with burnt orange, green, and purple. A tailored black pant with a floral print running down the seams spruced up an otherwise plain trouser. Pairing that with a floral blazer and black shoes may seem a little out there, but we assure you, this would be one look any man can pull off seamlessly. Color is rarely used to this extent and with Epson's help, we applaud Berrocal for going there.

The second designer was Gustavo Moscoso who debuted his line "GM" at the show. The show stopping piece of the evening was a white blazer with a floral-like print asymmetrically draped onto the blazer itself, falling from shoulder height to chest. His other menswear look was a typical tuxedo with a black "man-cape" with a hidden colorful print in the lining. Notable guests that we ran into who were raving about the piece shown includes writer Liz Black, photographer Andrew Werner, and Seventh House PR's very own Mandie Erickson.
