IN CROWD: Sebago 70th Anniverary Event

Iconic shoe brand Sebago celebrated the kick-off of the summer along with their 70th Anniversary with a brand-new pop-up shop in Nolita. Throughout the summer you can browse Sebago's classic boat shoes, 70th Anniversary exclusive colors, and hand-sewn penny loafers. Our preppy #CaptainKennedy won't be able to help himself to a few pairs. Personally, we loved the 70th Anniversary pastels in mint, orange sherbet, and lilac. We spoke to Dani Zizak, Chief Marketing Officer for Sebago, who told us about the new collection. “The importance and reverence of craft has been with us from the beginning and continues to inspire us to deliver the finest products for a life well crafted.”

Bringing us back to summer camp with an sophisticated twist, there was a craft beer tastings courtesy of Sebago Brewing Company (fact - they named it after Lake Sebago in Maine). On top of that, they had oyster shucking classes in the back by Greenpoint Fish & Lobster Co., along with shrimp, tuna ceviche, and chips to soak up the juices of the ceviche. Feeling as we were up in Cape Cod or Nantucket, we were excited to have a taste of the sea preview. The friendly atmosphere Sebago created did not get lost on us, as many guests stayed well past the end of the event. We have to say, Sebago's collection paid perfect homage to their beginnings while modernizing their collection for the modern man. With a price point that won't break the bank, we would recommend visiting a time or two before summers end.

The Pop-Up Store is located at 254 Elizabeth Street (between Houston & Prince) and will run through August. Store Hours are Monday-Saturday, 11am-7pm, and Sunday 12pm-6pm.
